Introducing THE HOLE

An outdoor space with a new site-specific work by German artist Karsten Födinger. Karsten Födinger's use of raw building materials such as wood and cement are a perfect ingredient to inaugurate the Hole at SALTS.
The old pit which was used to discard left-over meats by the butcher shop. Now the Hole present an opportunity, underground and limited by its container size to present outdoor installations, sculptures but also other mediums. Födinger like to squeeze weight and form into unshapely moulds and situations, he likes to support walls with T-iron bars without them needed it, or he uses plaster as a gesture of movement with performative nature to partly cover and obscure his wall or floor-based objects.
